with Dr Brieley Cutting
Join a boutique, selective Studio with a piano teacher who has over 20 years experience.
Brieley has assisted her students to develop a strong foundation as beginners, be awarded high grades for AMEB practical exams, attain AMEB Diplomas from as young as ten years old, become prizewinners in competitions and eisteddfods, and to audition successfully for school music scholarships and specialised performance-focused programs.
All of Brieley's students are encouraged to develop their individuality and performance skill alongside their love of music and the craft of classical pianism.

Located in Forest Lodge - close to the City and Inner West.
Being part of Brieley's Studio means:

having one-to-one practical lessons on a grand piano in a relaxed and focused environment

receiving regular Studio Newsletters which provide updates and information

taking part in competition rehearsals and a Student Concert each year, and

being part of a boutique Studio of interested learners.
In lessons, Brieley focuses on assisting her piano students to

develop a solid technical and musical foundation

read music scores

play with appropriate sound production and a strong sense of rhythm

study music theory and texts to support music understanding

prepare for upcoming performances

grow skills in collaborative playing, and

gain technical skill so as to be able to play advanced repertoire.
Brieley's students are encouraged to perform in local eisteddfods, school concerts, online competitions, national/international competitions and concert events.
2025 student successes included the following:

all students performing at the Student Concert in November, one student aged 6 years performing in public for the first time

students awarded Distinction Grades for AMEB 2nd, 4th and 5th Grades
-
AMusA Diploma awarded from the AMEB for a student aged 10 years
-
prize winners in the Ryde and St George Eisteddfods in Sydney, including a First Prize in the Sub-Junior Championship at Ryde Eisteddfod
-
numerous Highly Commended performances in the Ryde, St George and Sydney Eisteddfods
-
two students being selected to take part in the 'Little Lev' Australian National Piano Competition for Children in Brisbane (6/7 years, 8-10 years), one advancing to Round 2
-
a Second Placing in the Preliminary Round of the Aegio International Piano Competition, with Honourable Mention in the Final (7/8 years)

a Third Placing in the NSW State Final of the Oz Schools Instrumental Championship with Wildcard invitation to perform in the National Final in Melbourne (School Grades 5/6)

a 'Gold Award' performance in the Sydney live round of the Singapore International Music Competition (10-12 years)
